Wiki Magazine

Wikipedia means many things to many different people. It is the beating heart of user-centric design – favoring strictly regulated and sparse visual styles along with fast loading times for a truly accessible web. It’s also a website where even the most niche topic can find audiences. Users often report falling into what’s known as “wiki holes”- long periods of time spent jumping around articles, falling deeper in the rabbit hole.

My project, entitled “Wiki”, imagines one of these wikipedia holes taking the form of a print magazine. The article for the 2003 film The Room is 2 connections away from the article for Cults. Cults links to Salvation Mountain which ultimately leads to the article for Anarchy Online.  As much as Wikipedia connects us to information, it also mind-maps the ever-expanding human experience.
